Today's Diablo paintball war games have evolved from the home made action areas most often located in the woods or a private piece of land, to what is now seen as an indoor arena with many urban warfare themes.
When diablo paintball first emerged as a hobby, there were very few public places that a person could visit and test their warfare skills with a Tippmann a 5 camo paintball gun. At best, these areas were crude constructions of a combat zone, and often led to injuries that were not directly related to the paintballs themselves.
As the arenas evolved and diablo paintball became more of a sport than a hobby, many urban areas used old warehouses as a combat area. These old warehouses, allowed long lines of sight for urban combat, and could be rearranged with a multitude of "objects". These objects range from cubicle partitions, to inflatable geometric shapes, to paintball trip mines. The paintball gun could be aimed from many different locations and the objects offered protection from enemy fire.
Today the Diablo paintball war games scene has grown into a competitive sport. The game itself is played in a capture the flag style of combat, where both teams try to either, capture the opposing team’s flag, or simply eliminate the opposing players by hitting them with one of their shots. Teams are most often comprised of friends and like-minded individuals. The worr games paintball game is also played in a series of rounds, where the teams receive points for capturing the flags. Each round is time limited most often, and ties result in either points awarded to both teams and neither team.
Paintball guns have evolved as well to keep up with the fierce competitive nature that the sport has become. They can now be equipped with battery powered computer chips that allow for completely automatic auto-fire capabilities. There have also been improvements in the weapon delivery systems as well. Optional quick connect, re-usable, re-fillable compression tanks for firing the guns are available as well. Electric paintball hoppers give the cutting edge in diablo paintball performance.
The protective gear for diablo paintball war games has stayed basically the same. There have been improvements made in the type of material that is used, and perhaps in the styles of face masks. The most improved area in protective equipment though is probably in the area of camouflage. With more and more arenas resembling urban warfare, the color patterns been adjusted to match these conditions. With many, different manufactures designing the paint paintball gun camo to match the combat area.
